Terma Radar Systems have received a contract to install two surface movement radars (SMR) at the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in China.
The radars, which will become operational in 2011, will be part of HITT Traffic A3000 advanced-surface movement guidance and control systems.
The systems, which will also become operational in 2011, will enable air traffic controllers to detect and guide aircraft and vehicles such as baggage carriers, buses, supply trucks and staff cars.
The SCANTER 2001i radars will be part of HITT Traffic A3000 advanced-surface movement guidance and control systems.
The X-band radar sensor system will provide improved rain penetration and its resolution and accuracy will help to distinguish between various aircraft and vehicles effectively.
The radar’s frequency diversity system configuration will provide a number of inherent fall-back modes.
