Adelaide Airport in Australia will undergo a facilities upgrade as part of a A$310m airport development programme to comply with new anti-terrorism standards.

In accordance with the standards, no vehicle will be allowed within 70m of the airport’s terminal and drop-off and pick-up points will therefore be moved to a new multi-storey car park north of the terminal.

Adelaide’s main passenger terminal will also be expanded and the airport’s original international terminal will be demolished in order to accommodate regional carrier Rex.

The development is expected to be completed in five to six years.
