Honolulu International Airport in Hawaii has received $37m from the US Government to complete its terminal modernisation programme.
Roughly $19m will be allotted for the site preparation work of the new Mauka Concourse, which involves the relocation of utilities and the demolition of ground-level car park B and terminal roadways.
In addition, ticketing and passenger handling functions of two airlines will be relocated from the airport’s commuter terminal to the inter-island terminal.
The existing commuter terminal will be demolished to build the new concourse.
