San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico has submitted an application to the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) pilot airport privatisation programme.
The application will undergo a 30-day FAA review and if it is accepted the airport will become the programme’s third.
Chicago’s Midway Airport and Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans are the other two airports in the agency’s programme.
The Puerto Rico airport is owned and managed by Puerto Rico Ports Authority.
