Taiwan intends to expand Taoyuan International Airport in a bid to become the regional hub for East Asia.

The first phase of a $60m expansion programme is expected to be completed in two years’ time.

Terminal 1 will be expanded by 13,000m² and will be able to accommodate 15 million passengers a year.
