Thales ATM has completed the total radar coverage of the Nigerian Airspace (TRACON) project at Port Harcourt International Airport in Nigeria.
The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency oversaw the whole project, phase II of which involved the installation of an air traffic management (ATM) system.
The TRACON project was estimated to cost €66.5m, which was funded by the Nigerian Government, which signed a contract on 7 April 2003.
On completion, the new ATM is expected to enhance surveillance of Nigeria’s airspace and boost air traffic management in the AFI-region (Africa-Indian Ocean).
