Stockholm-Arlanda in Sweden has become the first airport to be accredited as carbon neutral by the Airports Council International (ACI) Europe.

ACI Europe first launched the scheme in June 2009, which independently assesses an airport’s efforts to manage and reduce CO2 emissions.

Over the last three years the Swedish airport has reduced its carbon emissions by 50%, earning it the ‘neutral’ level of accreditation.
