Hilo International Airport in Hawaii, US, is to begin construction of a $15m cargo facility.
The new cargo and light industrial building will consolidate all cargo operations under one roof.
The existing cargo facility is expected to be used as a heliport.
The federal government provided $10m of the project funds, with the rest procured from state airport funds.
The project will also include construction of a 50,000yd² apron and taxiways to accommodate wide-body cargo aircraft.
