Australia’s Perth Airport is to upgrade its facilities through a $2.4bn grant from the federal government.

The ten-year upgrade plan involves merging the domestic and international airports in order to cater to growing demand.

Federal and state governments will improve road and rail linkage to the airport through a $3.5m infrastructure project expected to be complete by 2010.

The main runway is expected to be renovated by early 2010.
