Plans for the US’s Erie International Airport 1,920ft runway extension have received preliminary approval from the Millcreek Township Authority.
The plans include relocating a residential block, extending the runway and constructing a shopping centre.
Final approval on the plans is expected to be announced in December.
Construction of the runway is due to commence in 2011.
