Kharkov Osnova International Airport in the Ukraine will install a new baggage handling system (BHS) as part of an upgrade proposal in view of the forthcoming European Football Championship.

The new BHS will have a capacity of 720 bags an hour and features 12 check-in points and two screening machines.

The system will have two arrival conveyor belts for domestic and international passengers.

The upgrade proposal also includes the construction of a new terminal, and refurbishment of the airport’s runway and apron.

The terminal is expected to be complete by 2010.
