Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in the Philippines has installed thermal scanners at three of its international passenger terminals in order to scan passengers for fever or other communicable diseases.

The $37,958m (PHP1.8m) device, known as forward-looking infrared FLIR T360, is capable of detecting passengers with fever within a 100m radius and can store various data and images.

The move is a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of contagious diseases, as the airport aims to improve its sanitation and hygiene levels.
