A new air traffic control (ATC) radar system has been introduced at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A Raytheon Series 300 mode selective monopulse secondary surveillance radar (S MSSR) has been installed at the airport to identify and maintain contact with aircraft and provide 3D positional information.

The airport’s new ATC centre will also use the radar to optimise airspace within the UAE and neighbouring regions.
