Terminal 2 at Barcelona International Airport in Spain is to undergo a €200m refurbishment as part of an upgrade proposal.

The refurbishment is required because the current building can no longer support the airport during peak traffic hours.

Work is expected to be complete by late 2011.

Terminal 2 was designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill.
