Southwest Florida International Airport in the US experienced a 9.6% increase in passenger traffic in September 2009 compared with the same month last year.
The airport served 359,743 passengers in September 2009, but year-to-date figures reveal passenger traffic has dropped by 2.5% compared to the same period in 2008.
The airport’s aircraft movements stood at 4,612 in September 2009, a decline of 7.6% compared with the same month last year.
The airport recorded approximately 7.6 million passengers in 2008 and is ranked among the top 50 US airports for passenger traffic.
