The Tanzanian Government has announced that it will build a $350m international airport in the Serengeti National Park to support the local tourism industry.
The project has been funded by Swiss finance firm SIPIO-B (80%) and by the Grumeti Game Reserve (20%).
Construction has recently resumed on the project, which originally began in 2006 but was forced to stop in 2007 due to lack of funds.
