Moderate Fall in Passenger Traffic at Hong Kong Airport

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) in China experienced a 3.5% drop in passenger traffic during September 2009, compared to the same period last year.

The airport recorded a total number of 3.5 million passengers, while cargo traffic fell by 4.3% and air traffic movements also dropped by 8% in September.

The year-to-date figures on a quarterly basis reveal that passenger volume has fallen from 7.1% in Q1 to 3.5% in Q3, while cargo traffic improved from Q1’s drop of 22.9% to just 5.9% in Q3.
