A new terminal for air cargo export will open at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Sri Lanka in January 2010, doubling cargo capacity at the airport.
The new terminal will be under the management of SriLankan Cargo, the cargo management arm of the Sri Lankan Airlines Group, the main handling agent for all airlines that operate to BIA.
The 13,300m² two-storey facility is undergoing modifications and will be able handle 300,000t of cargo a year upon completion.
