Passenger Traffic Falls at European Airports in August

European airports experienced a 4.5% drop in passenger traffic in August 2009 in comparison to the same month last year, a report by the Airports Council International (ACI) said. Freight traffic figures also proved to be dismal with a drop of -11.7% in 2009 compared to August 2008.

Freight traffic figures also proved to be dismal with a drop of -11.7% in 2009 compared to August 2008.

The overall figure for aircraft movements also dropped by -7.8% in August 2009 compared to the same last year.

The January to August 2009 accumulated figures reveal a decrease in passenger traffic by -8.1% , freight traffic by -21.1% and aircraft movements by -9.2% when compared to the same period last year.
