A new second runway, control tower and taxiway bridge will be unveiled on 10 October at Cancun International Airport (CUN) in Mexico as part of a $67m upgrade.
Cancun will be Mexico’s first airport to handle take-offs and landings on two runways simultaneously, and will eventually serve 28 million passengers annually.
The new 315ft control tower is among the 20 tallest towers in the world and will improve efficiency on the runways.
The terminal building area has been increased from 170,600ft² to 387,140ft².
