A $193m terminal renovation at Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) in the US is due to begin in January 2011.

The renovation project includes the refurbishment of the airport’s parking deck and installation of additional security lanes.

The move is part of a broader master plan that requires funding of $351m from the Transportation Security Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration and Homeland Security by 2014 to make additional renovations to the airport.
