Thailand’s airports have witnesses a 2.44% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic to 4.62 million since August 2009.
The rise follows a steep decrease in overall passenger numbers in the lead up to August.
So far this year, 34.5 million people have used Thai airports – a decrease of 12.55% on the period from January to August in 2008.
International traffic decreased by 5.11% in August, hitting 2.75 million with year-to-date figures at 20.99 million, which is a decrease of 16.08%.
Domestic passenger volumes decreased by 16.1% in August to 1.86 million, while the year-to-date figure is 13.54 million, down by 6.46%.
