The current interterminal transit system at London’s Gatwick Airport in the UK will be replaced by two new shuttles as part of the airport’s £1bn investment programme.

The new shuttles will come into service in May and July 2010 and are expected to be operational by August 2010.

A bus service has also been announced, which will operate from the upper forecourt of both terminals every three minutes during the day and every six minutes throughout the night.

The airport will conduct a number of trials during September 2009 using the replacement bus service.
