Poland is to get a $140m (€100m) airport that will cater to inbound fans arriving for the Euro 2012, the European Football Championship, according to a report on USA Today.
The two-runway airport will be built in Modlin, about 40km north of Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
Warsaw’s Okecie Airport will not be able to keep up with demand from incoming football fans, travelling to five cities in Poland and Ukraine for matches.
The airport is expected to open in 2010 and serve about 1.8 million passengers from 2010-2014.
