The first phase of development of a US departure terminal at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) in the Bahamas is running ahead of schedule.

The $256m project includes new and upgraded washrooms, roof repairs, new baggage systems and baggage carousels and parking lot improvements.

Phase one of the project is expected to be completed by early 2011, while new domestic and international departure terminals are scheduled for completion in late 2013.
