Tirana International Airport (TIA) in Albania has recently opened its new terminal’s extension which can now accommodate 1.5–1.8 million passengers a year.

The €20m project extended the terminal by a total of 4,833m², which includes an 890m² baggage handling facility.

The new terminal also features new check-in counters, gates, shops, a bar, a bank and a new exchange unit.

The extension work was carried out by Albanian contractors Trema Engineering 2 SHPK and construction was supervised by German company, DIWI Consult International GmbH.
