Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand has installed a centralised security screening system to improve security and accelerate passenger flow.
The project involves one main screening station with many security lanes, each possessing X-ray machines, metal detectors and bomb-detection equipment.

CSS has halved the airport’s number of passenger security screening points to six, with one located at the domestic-international transit point, two at the international transit areas and three at the departure halls.
It is hoped the move will reduce flight delays resulting from unexpectedly long queues at passenger security screening points.
The airport operator, Airports of Thailand, has spent $294,000 (10m baht) on the CSS stations, which also includes the installation of new surveillance cameras.
