Niagara Falls International Airport in the US will open its new $43.9m, 70,000ft², two-storey terminal tomorrow.

The new terminal, which will replace the circa 1950’s structure, will allow for additional charter and scheduled flights and help boost tourism in the area.

The airport will also feature a new 10,825ft runway that is 22% longer than Buffalo Niagara International Airport’s main runway and can handle heavier aircraft.

Niagara County Industrial Development Agency and Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) chairman Henry Sloma said that the new terminal was needed to attract major airlines.
