Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria, has secured a N589m ($3.73m) contract for perimeter fencing from the federal government.

The perimeter fencing is expected to boost security at the airport, with other airports nationwide likely to follow suit.

The fencing will be equipped with closed-circuit surveillance cameras and the project is expected to be completed within six months.
