Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Nevada, US, is planning to renovate its terminal apron using a $3.8m federal stimulus grant.

The grant is in addition to the $2.2m that was awarded to the programme in March.

Airport spokesman Brian Kulpin said that this stimulus grant would generate 50 to 60 full-time jobs.

Kulpin added that he was not sure when construction would commence or how long it would last.

US transportation secretary Ray LaHood said that, through the recovery act, many jobs would be generated in the Reno-Tahoe area and across the nation that would enhance the economic vitality and safety aspects of airports.
