Burlington International Airport in the US has announced plans to renovate its taxiways after receiving a federal stimulus grant of $2.42m.

The grant will be used to expand the taxiway and renovate and repave the two taxiways’ intersection.

The project is part of the multiple-phase South End Development programme that will improve the airport’s general aviation, aircraft maintenance and cargo capabilities.

Vermont’s congressional delegation said that the project could generate 350 new jobs at the airport over the next decade and help boost the economy in the long run.

The project is due to commence in September and reach completion 60 days later.
