Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra, Ghana has announced plans to relocate its airport control tower in order to increase security at the facility.
The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has financed the project. The USTDA and Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) signed a $295,000 memorandum of understanding in 2008.
The exact nature of the construction project is currently unclear.
The airport’s existing area was constructed in 1969.
