The tender process has begun for the management and further development of Kosovo’s Prishtina International Airport.
The Kosovo administration has asked all possible bidders to submit project proposals for the qualification process by 23 September.
The tender process is expected to reach completion by the end of this year.
The government has invited experienced airport developers, operators and investors to submit qualifications to participate in a competitive tender.
The project will be a 20-year design-build-finance-operate-transfer (DBFOT) agreement, which involves supervision, operation and maintenance of the airport.
The project covers financing, design, procurement and building aspects for infrastructure expansion, which also includes construction of a new 25,000m² terminal, apron, air traffic control facilities, taxiways, parking areas and a water treatment facility.
The administration said that an experienced operator is required who can enhance overall operation levels and create extra revenue sources.
