The State Government of Nigeria has announced a 750m naira rehabilitation project at Kaduna International Airport.

Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Board executive secretary Abdullahi Muktar said the renovation would improve overall standards at the airport as well as benefiting the pilgrims that use the facility to travel to the Hajj each year.

The state authorities also confirmed they will support pilgrims with the necessary transport requirements during the Hajj.

The move is widely viewed as an attempt to foster unity among the Muslim communities in Nigeria following the recent Boko Haram crisis which engulfed several states in the north.
