Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport in the US will install new road signs to better direct drivers to terminals at Lindbergh and Humphrey.

The airport reports that around 25,000 passengers reach the wrong terminal every year as they are miles apart and on two separate roads.

The airport will also list the names of airlines on the signs, a first in the US, to assist travellers in finding the correct arrival or departure location. Currently, only airports with their own roads can feature such signs.

As the terminals are located on two separate roads, drivers need to quickly decide the right direction as they approach the airport.

The project will be complete by early 2010 at a cost of $2.2m.
