Bishop International Airport in the US is making efforts to better its loading docks by rehabilitating the pavement and apron used for stocking planes.
Using a $3.5m grant awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration, the airport authority will increase its de-icing capabilities and refurbish its ground surfaces.
Bishop Airport generates more than $200m in regional business activity.
The airport has also received more than $11m in federal aid for the construction of taxiways, and the expansion of aprons to accommodate both additional and larger freight aircraft.
