Denver International Airport (DIA) in the US has awarded a $160m programme management contract to Parsons Transportation Group for the airport’s South Terminal redevelopment programme.
The contract was agreed on a seven-year base term with a two-year extension period.
DIA plans to develop the area directly south of the Jeppesen Terminal, which will include a new Westin Hotel, the DIA FasTracks station, an open-air plaza above the station, and expansion of levels 5 and 6 of the terminal.
The Parsons team includes several local architecture, engineering and speciality planning companies, and will work from its local Denver office.
Parsons will use the expertise of Santiago Calatrava, a structural engineer and architect.
