Laredo International Airport in Texas, US, has received $10.5m in federal funding for the reconstruction of its airport runway.
The runway, first built in the 1950’s, will be lengthened by 5,900ft.
The project aims to reduce maintenance costs and boost fleet capacity.
The reconstruction is expected to be complete by November 2009.
