A major development project worth RM180m ($50.93m) at Senai International Airport in Malaysia, which includes renovation of the passenger terminal, management complex and cargo terminal, is underway.
The airport is currently working on the extension of its runway from 3.35km to 3.8km to accommodate wide-bodied aircraft.
The RM300m ($84.90m) projects were part of SATS’s long-term plan to make the airport a cost-effective logistic air base.
The airport began work on its passenger management terminal expansion, an underground car park, restaurants and business centres in August last year. Work is expected to be finished in June 2010.
