US-based electronics company Honeywell has announced that it is looking to join Europe’s future air traffic management programme SESAR (single European sky ATM research).

Honeywell is looking to boost its profile outside the US and will carry out research and manufacturing projects for SESAR.

Honeywell Aerospace for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India president Paolo Carmassi said that the company was well placed to contribute to the creation of a system-wide information network linking all players – airlines, aircraft, airports and air navigation service providers.

The company hopes to leverage off its experience in airborne separation assurance systems, surveillance, navigation and flight management systems as well as enhanced ground proximity warning technology.
