Swedish airport operator LFV has selected transport security solutions provider IER to install 45 IER new-generation self-service check-in kiosks at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.

The airport operator has selected common-use self-service (CUSS) kiosk IER 918, designed and manufactured by IER.

The company says that the IER 918 will provide applications such as e-ticketing, 2D barcoded boarding passes, the ability to read e-passports and to check in airline passengers with or without bags.

The IER will also provide its proprietary CUSS platform, monitoring system and internet check-in access.

The installation of the first ten kiosks are planned in the middle of August and will be fitted with a full-page passport reader, 2D barcode and card readers, a boarding pass printer and a fingerprint scanner.

IER has been working with International Association Transport Administration (IATA) for the past few years to create the CUSS standard.
