Delhi International Airport has awarded a $9.3m contract to ADT Security for installing access control and video surveillance security systems at the Terminal 3.
The company will install an airport edition system CEM AC2000 and IP Video system which will help in providing surveillance to the multi-level surface car park and the metro in the new terminal.
The new access control system contains features like single OEM hardware and software; intelligent, multi-technology card readers with onboard database; web interface to connected device configuration (CDC) server for remote diagnostics.
The IP Video system will use new compression technology to provide high-quality digital video and will save around 25% to 50% on bandwidth and storage requirements.
This integrated system will allow the airport to manage operational complexity and security-related challenges in a large-scale environment.
The applications of this integrated access control system includes passenger reconciliation, vehicle management, airbridge monitoring system and check-in desk control to enable the airport’s ground operations.
The newly 500,000 square metres integrated Terminal 3 will handle approximately 60 million passengers annually. This new terminal is expected to open before the Commonwealth Games 2010 begins in New Delhi, India.
