The US Department of Transportation will give Missouri a grant of $9.66m for major airport projects within the state.

The funding is provided through the Federal Aviation Administration under Missouri’s state block grant programme.

Hannibal Regional Airport in Missouri will use some of these funds for the construction of a terminal, plus exterior site development, driveway, parking, landscaping and furnishings, according to the airport’s website.

The airport is also planning to extend its runway from 4,400ft to 5,000ft.
