Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in the US has opened its new mobile website, enabling passengers to access the airport’s website quickly and easily from their mobile devices.
The new mobile site appears automatically on mobile devices, allowing travellers to access flight information, an airport guide, shopping and eating services, and a travel planner.
The site also includes ring tones and backgrounds in its ‘just for fun’ section. In addition, the new mobile website has fewer images to speed up browsing and allows mobile device users to redirect their browser to the full DFW website if desired.
The airport’s information technology unit has developed and tested the site after the successful redevelopment of its primary site last summer.
The back-end technology provides the full function of airport’s website to mobile site users without graphics. The airport’s information technology unit maintains a single content management system to support both the sites.
