Construction work on Berlin Brandenburg Airport’s state of art control tower by DFS has begun and is expected to be completed by September 2010.

The new elliptical tower will have four supporting elements and will house 11 employees, each with a different viewing position, to manage the growing traffic numbers expected in the future.

The tower designed by Stuttgart architect Franz Ondra will be the second largest tower in Germany, built at a cost of €35m.

Alongside this facility, DFS also owns towers in Hannover, Leipzig, Dresden, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.
