The recent financial crisis has led Australia’s investment bank Macquarie to put Bristol Airport up for sale.

The airport experienced a passenger drop of 26% in February 2009 .

Fortis Investments, which recently acquired Belfast’s George Best Airport, has expressed interest in the airport along with financial services company Prudential according to website TTG live.

In 2006 Bristol Airport was valued at £283m and served six million passengers annually though recent declines suggest this value could now be less.
