SITA installs self-boarding gates at Vienna airport

Air transport IT provider SITA has secured a contract to install self-boarding gates at Vienna International Airport in Austria at the new Skylink terminal.

Air transport IT provider SITA has secured a contract to install self-boarding gates at Vienna International Airport, Austria, at its new Skylink terminal.

SITA has started the installation of the self-boarding solution at all of the airport's 92 gates, including the new Skylink terminal, which will be operational by 2012.

Following the installation, 92 double-lane gates will be available for the 20 million passengers that use the airport each year and will support future passenger growth.

As part of the contract, SITA will handle the entire project including the procurement and installation of KABA automatic gates, integration with the SITA CUTE platform, extensive training of personnel and ongoing operations and maintenance.
