SITA has launched a global command centre in Singapore for the proactive monitoring and management of its communication and IT solutions, which are used by global airlines and airports, in a bid to deliver zero downtime to the air transport industry.

The new centre will manage airport, web and mobile check-in systems, aircraft communications, baggage management and border management systems.

SITA's command centres are manned by teams of IT experts who have real-time visibility of the IT and communications systems so they can identify issues and offer solutions before services at its customer airlines and airports are affected.

This follows the opening of SITA's first centre in Montreal, Canada, last year.
