Northrop Grumman will showcase its Airport Realtime Collaboration (ARC) suite capabilities at the Airport IT&T Conference to be held in Munich, Germany, between 10-11 October 2012.
Northrop Grumman has developed the ARC suite, which is intended to assist airports in enhancing decision making by offering concise and appropriate information.
The new ARC suite's passenger flow module uses algorithms that assist in analysis, simulation and prediction of complex systems and behaviours.
The system's new artificial intelligence software uses flight schedule data along with historical passenger movements to offer projected passenger numbers, flows and queue times at key points.
Northrop Grumman's airport systems group managing director Charles Houseago said: "The Passenger Flow module of ARC offers airports a simple way to use existing data sources in a smarter way, giving more accurate forecasting and higher predictability, ranging from long-term planning to real-time warning of an expected surge of people at security."
The ARC passenger flow module will also deliver early warning of sudden alterations in passenger flow rates, allowing optimisation of security search resourcing and reduced queuing times, according to Northrop Grumman.
