Hitachi to deliver Change Management programme for UK NATS

Hitachi Consulting UK has completed the IT groundwork for the country's National Air Traffic Services’ (NATS) Change Management programme.

Hitachi Consulting UK has completed the IT groundwork for the country's National Air Traffic Services' (NATS) Change Management programme.

The Change Management programme will allow NATS to implement a cloud based infrastructure transferring its desktop IT services to the cloud.

NATS hopes the cloud infrastructure will offer £9m savings over the next four years and provide better accessibility and mobility for staff.

NATS Information Solutions head, Gavin Walker, said: "Hitachi Consulting understood the vision and strategy of what we were trying to achieve."

"They could make the leap between the technical requirements, the business impact on people's behaviours and what this would mean for the day to day style of working," Walker said.

For executing this programme, Hitachi designed a change framework and then built the IS team capability, engaging with the business, building interest in the programme and driving management ownership of the advantages.

After completion of the programme, it will allow effective collaboration between internal staff and business partners across NATS offices located in different geographic location.

The programme will offer customised solution to NATS' staff by facilitating their access to the services, information and applications they need for their particular role.

NATS' employees can also access virtualised applications on any technology device in a more mobile friendly and accessible environment.

The programme will facilitate the company to line up its IT with the future growth plan to handle circumstances including potential acquisitions and joint ventures that could require better scalability and flexibility.
